Coming up for air....

This is an unexpected move for me.  I have had blogs on line before; but I had vowed never to do another.  I suppose necessity has forced my hand or at least my two fingered typing.  I will dip my toe again and see how it goes.  Success or failure it sort of feels the right time to try.

In time I may explain this cryptic start; but the courage to do that escapes me at the moment.

So to the blog name.  It seems since I stopped the last blog, over a year ago a lots happened most of which is still private.  The name implies I am at the end of a situation and thats not quite true.  Its just the option list could have been scribed onto the back of a postage stamp.

Now there is a blast from the past - postage stamp!  Its a good a place as any to start. Some of my first memories are from the Garden.  A semi detached house on a reasonably rough council estate, my parents did their best in the burgeoning age of 60's and 70's Sunday trip to the Garden centre. To be honest I struggled with boredom at first.  That was until I was given some marigold seeds my own child's wheelbarrow .

It enabled me to try and copy my dad as he pottered around a mainly veg plot.  The Dig for Victory ethos hard to shake.  My dad was a difficult man to impress, indeed his approach of tough love could be isolating.  Especially as the youngest of 5 children (mum had me in her early 40's). Its hard to be noticed when so many people vying for his attention.  As I type now, I have the benefit of experience, I am in my mid to late 50's and I believe or at least guess that he was a grumpy git who wanted peace and quite and an end to troublesome off spring.

I am going off at a tangent here, something my muddled mind is prone to.  Forgive me, its hard to control a "Butterfly" mind. So "The Last Gasp Gardener" I suppose it has multi faceted and could apply to me in so many ways.  All of which will leak into future prose.

Well there's a wild boast.  It implies there will be more than one blog, which has made the butterflies from mind to stomach.  Future blogs will be , I can assure you, more about the garden and the beneficial effect on me.

Oh no not another Mindfulness plug. Its trendy I know to talk about well-being, but I hope you will join me on the quest to get my breath back.
